BEAVER REPORT

Silver Falls Beavers run an adventurous program of outdoor activities, creative play, music and games. Beavers enjoy time with their friends, learn how to get along within a group, and develop the confidence to be themselves. Through various outdoor activities, Beavers develop an appreciation and a sense of caring for the environment.

SCOUT REPORT

The Scout section has returned to Silver Falls United Church.  The Glenview United church Scouts joined us to combine leadership and provide more opportunities for the youth. Despite a late start, working out the bugs in planning, the leaders Andrew Cory and Ken Elisseou are slowly forming a troop which includes 2 leaders in training, 9 youth and multiple potentials as of February 2009. This year is expected to be productive and busy with many hikes and camping trips that the youth would like to participate in. some of the activities include a winter camp, hike to see the ice caves in Sussex, canoe trip when the weather improves, hiking the Fundy trail and multiple area run events like camps and scout trees. With the church's ongoing support of the troop we will be ready in September 09 to start a new year and hopefully bolster our numbers allowing more youth to benefit from the Scout movement.

The Scouts have enthusiastically made Apple Crisp for the Church's annual Turkey supper (enough for 75 diners), cooked and served at a number of our very popular after-church lunches, and flipped a pile of pancakes at the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper.
