Saturday Supper

Saturday March 28 is Silver Falls' turn to host the East Saint John Ecumenical Saturday Supper Ministry at Saint Mary and Saint Bartholomew's Church at 646 Westmoreland Road.  This is a vital ministry feeding the economically disadvantaged in East Saint John.  It not only feeds a person, it also offers a Christian hand of friendship to those who are often lonely and in need.  Please see Jean Watters for more information or call her at 696-4808.

Pancakes!  I Love Pancakes!

Please join us for our annual Pancake Breakfast on Easter Sunday.

Deep In Our Hearts
A Cooperative Ministry

Following a successful visioning event hosted by Silver Falls in November 2013, there was a desire among Glen View, Park Avenue/Red Head, St. Andrew and St. David, and Silver Falls to explore the opportunity for collaboration among our churches. With the support of the church boards and Presbytery, representatives from each congregation formed a committee and held its first meeting in February 2014.

The committee has been meeting regularly since then.  For information about our work, please visit our website.

Chuck Knows Church has begun a new series of videos called The Committee.  Watch as Chuck and the church members of Park Grove Church try to find ways to breathe new life into a tired church family that have lost their spark.  Become inspired.  Become engaged in their story.

Happy Birthday Hartley Biggs!
Hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Scripture for the Week

Mark 12:28-34New International Version (NIV)

The Greatest Commandment

28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”

29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.

30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  There is no commandment greater than these.”

32 “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.

33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.
